ABOUT THE GROUP East Midlands Audio Visual Group meet at the St Johns Community Centre, Packhorse Drive, off Sandhill Drive, St Johns, Enderby, Leics. LE19 2RN on the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, starting at 7.30pm unless otherwise stated. Any other venues are stated within the programme entry. The aim of the Group is to promote the enjoyment of Audio Visual Sequences, produced by either the original method of slides with a taped soundtrack or by digital photography with the accompanying soundtrack all produced on a computer. The Group gained its independence from its parent society Leicester Forest Photographic Society in 1985 and operated under the name of Leicester Forest Audio Visual Group until 2006 when the name was changed to East Midlands Audio Visual Group. It is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF). The Group will arrange lectures & workshops covering all aspects of sequence making, from simple beginnings to full visual sound presentations. It also provides a forum for members to show their sequences and exchange ideas. Annual competitions will be organised to which members may submit work. Guidance will be offered to enter Regional, National and International competitions, also towards the RPS Audio Visual Distinctions and the PAGB Awards for Photographic Merit. A varied social programme will he organised, at which a friendly and congenial atmosphere will be fostered. New members, whether beginners or experienced photographers, are always welcome.
